Book World, the country's fourth-largest bookstore chain, is closing. That ranking now goes to Amazon.http://nyti.ms/2zJJ8Do

I must be old fashioned as I still prefer to look through a book before I buy it

WOW, how sad. We are quickly losing places where people can connect, and browse through books. SHAME..

Working at Border's corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor was probably my personal favorite job in my career. Great people. Great environment. There need to be book stores in every city.

I buy from my local library bookstore. The proceeds go toward supporting the library programs. Amazon is last resort.. I'll buy from secondhand stores online first.

That makes me sad. I always enjoy going into a bookstore, but must admit that I usually browse. I buy most of my books from the evil Amazon...

Yes. I think it is simply the way of the future. But, again, I must admit I do enjoy browsing at the Barnes and Noble. I do buy on occasion, but usually spark ideas for online purchases. It is “*less expensive” indeed.

Never heard of it. We have Half Price Books, Barnes and Nobles, along with Book People and other smaller independent book stores. I don’t and haven’t bought any books from Amazon.

I love bookstores. But I also love the convenience of the Kindle. As much as it pains me to see stores closing, there’s no going back for me.
