Ireland wanted to forget. But the dead don't always stay buried. One woman made it her mission to find the truth. http://nyti.ms/2zFx5Hh  This was one of our most-read articles this year.

Still more news to be had from this story. Why has no one or no organisations been held accountable? @louistheroux can you do a some research and get in touch with Catherine Corless and put pressure on the church and state to find the whole truth and get accountability.

Organized religion hides some very nasty history. Punishing pregnant women via Christian extremism is making a comeback in the States. It’s disturbing how easily some Christians forget what judging and controlling women looks like.

A child of the Irish launderies is a close friend of mine. He suffers to this day. He called me when he saw this article. He found his mother few years ago and she wouldn’t see him. Bad memories for her too. He was put on a plane to NY when he was 3, stolen from her.

This isn't the only place where the Church has buried its sins. Sadly, not all will be found and remembered like The Lost Children of Tuam.

Well done to Catherine Corless and also to the Irish Mail for breaking this scandal. I'm pro-life. But a church that claims to be pro -life but dumps babies in the septic tank sickens me.

This was what the Catholic churchs PR company wrote to a journalist investigating the deaths!

I am Catholic & know there is good & bad humans that do horrible things in name of God or believe their self righteous actions of faith superiority can excuse them of any laws of accountability to humanity. Yet, even knowing this I was completely mesmerized by this story.
