Power prices fell below zero in Germany over the weekend. Yes, that means consumers were actually paid to use power.http://nyti.ms/2BW6xYh

As a German, I can assure you that I did not get any checks for using power ;) According to a new survey electric power was more expensive than ever for consumers in Germany and is expected to further increase next year.

Article is paywalled though , cannot easily see the actual content compared to the headline, which is more than misleading

Newspapers have NEVER been free. Why would you expect so now? Don’t follow them if you expect not to pay sometimes.

I don't care about the paywall itself. As a German I find the headline cheap and misleading and since it is paywalled it seems to make a false impression. Which is what was pointed out. Paywalled newspapers should subscribe to higher standards.

That is how headlines have worked for centuries. It's a hook. Don't judge a book by it's cover. These are not American inventions by any stretch. But I do understand your concerns. Cheers. Here's to a better 2018!

They will be forced to change to survive. Like I said there are conversion kits already available. Many of China's electric cars were once combustion engines but have been converted.

Yep between China's push to go green and enough activism in each of our own countries to do same, government will have to listen at some point.
