In Canada your spouse has to sign a form for you to be even considered to have a license. Maybe an idea?

Sure, that should be constitutional. Your spouse determines what rights you can exercise. Maybe spouses should also control freedom of speech.

Wow way to read a bunch of stuff into that doesn't exist. First off in Canada we don't have stupid amendments about weapons. 2nd of all no one is controlling anything. They are only saying you're not a psycho who is going to take the gun home and shoot people. They know u best.

Well, in America we DO have those rights GUARANTEED by the Constitution. They are NOT dependent on somebody’s opinion whether you are ALLOWED to exercise them.

How many people die in your country by gun violence? In Canada if you're convicted of a Fed. offence you are banned from owning firearms. No moose or deer hunt for you assholes.

You even fill out your paper work wrong you may not get one. Literacy is important in Canada...unlike elsewhere....

Also doing the test to get your licence is time consuming..like that too.

But they weren't "loved ones." They were ABUSED ones, mostly #women & #children. That's the point! The sentimentality in this sentence makes me sick. #VAW

Which means he was not allowed to own a firearm. Weird. Which means he got it illegally. Even weirder

It's super weird that all the mass shootings happen in the same country that has incredibly lax gun laws

They were not allowed to own or purchase firearms. They broke the law to get their hands on them. What laws would have prevented this?

Maybe the same laws that work very effectively for every other western democracy in the world

We aren't surprised that mass shooters are psychopaths... are we? We don't need to identify them, we need to ensure that predators are brought to justice early on. Sadly, we are no closer to this than when police used to threaten me with arrest because I was being beaten.

Recent reddit thread, in r/askwomen: “women who were almost murdered, what’s you story?” Almost every story, of which there were hundreds, were women telling how their bf or husband tried to kill them.
