So Saudi Arabia wants to reduce chess to checkers by having no competition. Got it. Such spirit of sportsmanship! It would be best if they just played amongst themselves. Clearly they are not ready for prime time or 21st century.

Most Arab & Muslim countries and their just friends don’t recognize Israel as a country but rather an occupying entity that usurped an Arab territory of native #Palestine since 1948 in conspiracy by colonial Britain that replaced Palestinians by European diaspora Jews!

Israel didn’t steal land. That’s your first problem. Israel is the envy of the MidEast. The mere fact that its survived in an unfriendly neighbourhood has become an open wound to the Arab Ego, because while Arabs are killing Arabs by the hundreds of thousands, Israel is thriving.

Obviously after this and the treatment of women the tournament should be cancelled and rescheduled elsewhere. Saudi Arabia needs to stop being a chauvinist pit of intolerance, sexism and bigotry.
