        Some say it's because you never know when you might meet an angel in disguise. I prefer the idea that sometimes it's just the right thing to do. That said, long-term help is better than a single act of kindness. Please support charities which reach out to help people stand up.

        Maybe we feel compassion that theses people no longer have any support by the American Govt. Stripped of all their Hospitals and access to care they become beggars in the street to survive what life is left for them!

        You are not helping these people by giving them handouts. You are just encouraging them to continue their behavior. You would be surprised how many homeless people make their way to NYC because people give them money and social services are better here.
