It isnt even pro-birth anymore. CHIP funds prenatal care, birth, infant, and postpartum care as well as for terminal illnesses like leukemia. Where is the pro-birth crowd shouting from the rooftops to get this take care of?

CHIP is not free to parents. This is literally the only affordable insurance option for children. It is disgusting that this has to happen.

If the GOP can spend $1.5T for tax cuts for the wealthy surely they could spend a few billion for children.

The Republicans are the ones pushing for the bill. The Democrats are holding it up because they don't like the funding mechanism. Of course, fake news won't tell you that. Blame Democrats not Republicans.

You mean this? "In early November, the House passed a bill, 242-174 largely on party lines, to reauthorize CHIP by taking money from the ACA’s public health preventative care fund, which pays for programs like opioid treatment and vaccinations."

Seems like a shitty method for funding when they just passed a HUGE tax bill raising the deficit to aide their campaign donors. DJT promised to fight the opioid epidemic, I guess he meant with negative funding and well-wishes.

The the tax cuts are deficit neutral so they wont raise or lower the deficit. Clearly you haven't actually looked at the bill yourself.

The tax cuts are not deficit neutral, they add $1.4-$1.7 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years.

Clearly you dont understand what a deficit is. A deficit is yearly. Debt is the cumulative total of the deficits. And yes, the tax cut is deficit neutral meaning it will pay for itself from the expanded economy.

What rise of GDP will make it pay for itself? 4000%?
