Distractions like these are exactly what I need as I limp through the final bitter dregs of this shit taco of a year.
@nytimes Please continue. -
I hope shit tacos are off the menu by next year :)

I’m planning on it!

And now I see you're in Vancouver, so this article is probably more relevant to you than me.

Get outside of a big, gloppy dish of it after a party gone pleasantly off the rails and it becomes relevent regardless of region.
PS Add mayo. Trust me. -
Good use of 'gloppy'
Thnx for the mayo tip! I'm heading up north in Feb.; Will instigate sending all parties off the rails (pleasantly, of course) and toward a big pile of poutine.

It is a Quebec food invention. Everyone knows that. It is NOT a Canadian national food, though it is wildly popular in Ontario next door to Quebec. Can't speak for other provinces.
-
It’s certainly popular nationally, but I agree....it’s definitely not a national dish. Popularity doesn’t bestow ownership. I can get a gyro anywhere in Canada. It’s still a Greek dish.

How about a donair?
-
Donairs are OBVIOUSLY from Nova Scotia.
