And let's not forget that decades of underfunding of Amtrak by successive Congresses and administrations is a major reason why we are asking question today about why PTC (Positive Train Control) wasn't installed on this rail line....and on all US rail lines.

When will we stop reporting on deaths on Amtrak and close it down?

When will we stop talking about gun deaths and shut guns down? They kill way more folks than trains do.

Seems they forgot that to have high speed trains, you need high speed tracks as well. SMH

War with N Korea and Iran, California fires on Jerusalem day, power outage at Atlanta airport, Amtrak accident, internet outages across the country, UFO disclosure....all during the tax heist. Feels like Nero burning Rome.

Another sleeping train operator will be the end story here. PTC not in place is the fault of Amtrak. Our rail system nationwide has been ignored and is antiquated. Shame we aren’t more invested in our rail.

Blame Congress. Congress passed a law in 2008 for positive train control and in 2015 Congress extended the deadline to 2018. Inexcusable Action which failed to protect citizens.@RepDennyHeck

My prayers for all affected. What is happening to our minds when we blame the "train" for going 50 miles over speed limit, and not the person driving it? Or guns and not the person using them in wrong and irresponsible ways? Yes, men & women have lost their reasoning power.
