Sure, Jerry Richardson was an unapologetic racist and sexual predator, but he was polite, always picked up after himself and was very, very economically anxious

I’m mocking @nytimes coverage of Nazis and sexual predators. In this story they claim that accusations run counter to his “generosity.”

Another ridiculous assertion by the #NYTimes. Richardson is selling a business he owns; harassment charges are irrelevant to the franchise’s value. He’s not profiting from abuse but rather from his investment.

This isn't a responsible headline. In truth, he is cashing in on his investment after allegations of abuse were made public. The abuse accusations did not increase his wealth.

He was going to sell with or without this coming out. You don't lose your business in this country just because you made people feel uncomfortable. This headline is a bit of a reach

He's about to sell something he owns. What am I missing here? People accused of harassment should be prohibited from selling their property?

Generally, being convicted of something (which he hasn’t) doesn’t even result in the forfeiture of your personal property. Is that what people want?

Right? He's the OWNER. Meaning the options are to let him maintain the power that he used to be a dirty, racist bastard and continue profiting off it OR let him sell it, walk away with a lump sum, but clean your hands of him

The article suggests he should have to give the money to victims. I default to believing women who make accusations but that's a dangerous precedent that your livelihood can be taken away because of an accusation. Best option is to sell and walk away.

Richardson was wealthy before deciding to sell the Panthers, so the headline is nonsense. What's a dirty old man going to do with all that money anyway, I'm sure he gladly give a large chunk of it away if he could only recapture his reputation & save those women their heartache.

Leave it to @nytimes to desire to strip a citizen of their constitutional rights based on some alleged creepy behavior. The same NYT that is adamant about conferring constitutional rights to an illegal alien who killed someone. Please @nytimes go bankrupt already.
