In Jackson, a new Mississippi Civil Rights Museum does not sugarcoat history, nor does it offer closure.http://nyti.ms/2Cyucdl

Proud of MS: The museum "offers no closure. The story it tells is still in progress....That the new museum says this outright, and leaves us upset, its story unresolved, is what makes it work. We don’t need our museums--any of them--to calm us down; we need them to sound alarms."

There can be no closure until all wounds are healed. trump has actually reopened wounds that were closed. One step forward and now with trump two steps back. There is hope, as always - however trump is not the answer.

Why do we use “closure” for those things that will never have closure?

And it shouldn't. The history of civil rights in this country unfortunately is still being made.

Thank you for such a good piece on the museum. I've only had a chance for a short visit, but from what I've seen I would suggest it as required viewing for all Americans. It helps to give a better understanding of that tragic period in our history.
