Despite the investment the city has made, parents appear to be avoiding schools in the Renewal program. Enrollment at 52 Renewal Schools fell by at least 10 percent from the 2014-15 school year to the 2016-17 school year. Only six schools saw their enrollment increased by 10%+

That's for those of you who read only the headline, then tweet off half cocked.

I'm guilty of it at times too. Trying to be better and help others to be better too. Less half cock!

Guilty of liking and retweeting others going off half cocked as well, because I understand completely.

I wonder where that money went. Did it go toward buying up-to-date materials, hiring more teachers and aides, fixing school infrastructure, & making school lunches healthier.... Or did that money just pad the wallets of admins or go toward useless iPads?

Imagine what could have been done if that 582 million went to fund a program that works like Geoffrey Canada's Harlem Children's Zone

Public schools are hurting and disappearing at an alarming rate. Soon the poor will have no where to go. #devos wants to privatize everything. What's next? Parents can then expect a bill from your school?

So NYT’s is saying that Mayor de Blasio threw a lot of Tax Payer money out the window on another leftist feel good project.

NYC spends 2x the national average per student yet our public schools are failing. Barely 40% of NYC kids (K-8) are proficient in math and English. Only 46% of HS students graduate college ready. Shameful.
