Since Hurricane Maria steamrollered Puerto Rico, the day-to-day job of digging out has fallen largely to island residentshttp://nyti.ms/2AJ3Qoo

No US Citizen should be devastated & then ignored like these people have been, not even by a FAKE President. NoExcuses. This man is showing his cowardice through lack of rebuilding, funding that island.

You are WRONG! They’ve passed on opportunities to become a state and declined! The United States isn’t responsible to rebuild every devestated area.

Puerto Rico isn't an "AREA". It is a part of the USA, whether you like it or not. If Houston can get the help they need, so should Puerto Rico. The People of Puerto RIco do not deserve this treatment from the US CONGRESS and COWARDLY PRESIDENT!

I’m sorry but it does NOT deserve the same treatment as our 50 states! It is not the same and cannot be treated as such no matter how many people complain

"IT" is full of American Citizens. That is what matters here, not some overblown review of how PR has fr/your personal view "chosen" any certain path. There are many, many factors in choices made. This DISASTER is not the time to OPPRESS People over history. It's a time to CHANGE

...and the point? One would expect locals to have to dig themselves out. Waiting for others to do it for them would be silly and presumptuous.

What about compassion and humility towards our fellow humans. Regardless who is at fault people are suffering and need help - as the scale of disaster is far greater than a simple exercise. Shame on you for your cruelty
