There is no way to know why this bear is starving. This bear was photo’d in an area where polar bears are doing quite well. Could it have cancer? Old? Illness? No context unless captured & examined.

PSA to the inevitable people who will point out that one bear isn't evidence of climate change: 1. That's true, obviously. 2. The scientific data does suggest climate change impacts this and other habitats, including humans. 3. Read:https://nca2014.globalchange.gov/report

There are 19 distinct Polar Bear populations. In environments not affected, populations have gone up or have been stable largely due to conservation. Where environments become less habitable, populations in decline. Read:https://www.canadiangeographic.ca/article/truth-about-polar-bears …

Mr Nicklen did not examine the bear so he’s speculating it’s starving! He quite possibly could have been sick with some disease! Remember he’s speculating!!

Did you know that 800,000 children or more go missing (each year) in North America alone? I’d say that takes preference; But then again, if we look too hard at *that issue a lot of your heroes will be unveiled as complicit. We mustn’t have that. And now, back to the distracting🐻
