No no, not just mobilizing them. Listening to them. Empowering them. Letting them lead and taking their lead on issues that matter to their communities.

Agreed, once we do have some success we can't become complacent - we'll need to keep everyone involved and never forget
-
“Mobilise them”: like black and minority voters are an infantry division to be deployed in times of war. I agree: listen to us, give us the opportunity to field our own representatives, promoting our own hot issues. I don’t want to vote for the lesser of 2 evils any more.

i hate all of this rhetoric of "mobilization". i want my reps to actually want to advance minority communities, independent of any political advantage it may give them. is that too much to ask??

Don't just "mobilize" POC, put their needs to the front and center of the D platform. Put them in positions of leadership. Support their candidacies. When you care for WOC everyone else is cared for too.

Mobilize? Actually, presenting actual solutions for black issues would be more accurate. The last elections have proven that if BLK ppl don't vote, bad things happen.

GOP has known this for years, which is why they're so busy suppressing votes and gerrymandering

NO! It’s getting PEOPLE to the polls! Why do we have a narrative that there’re white people and everyone else. Democrats win when they empower normal people, not the wealthy or big business. The path to victory is in inspiring people to get off the couch and vote.
-
white people separate themselves. a majority of whites voted for trump and moore. stats are here:https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2017/politics/alabama-exit-polls/?utm_term=.980015530124 …

Granted, we ARE talking about the South...
-
That doesn't explain Trump, though. That was the whole country. Take a look at Adam
@AdamSerwer's article The Nationalist's Delusion if you haven't already. Not disputing the need for greater participation overall but race is huge & Ds need to stop exploiting the POC vote. -
I think that we’re by and large talking about the same thing, what I’m really objecting to is the narrative that there’s a white vote and then there’s everyone else. In any case I agree with you.
