The tax code has long offered rewards for buying rather than renting, an equation that the Republican bill upendshttp://nyti.ms/2CHcmWg

Not if you buy a house you can afford. No reason owning should have a tax loophole.

The rush for landlords to sell properties they can no longer deduct interest on will be EPIC. The market will be flooded with inventory nationwide. The #GOP's shortsightedness just shows they don't know how to manage a complex economy. It's beyond them.

How irresponsible! Some of us bought houses...because we were so damn tired of living at the whim of our landlords and when our rent will be raised the NEXT time.

Many home "owners" had it too good because they defaulted on their mortgages, yet continued to live in those same homes without being forced to pay rent or tax on the money they thus saved.

This is how the decades-long GOP class war against the poor expands to war against the middle class. Homeownership has been the one reliable way to build wealth for most families, allowing them to move from the working class to the middle class.
