Maybe you had no idea what the toy was, or why it was so special. But your child had to have it. Tell us the story.http://nyti.ms/2AVstze

I bribed a security guard at Best Buy with $100 to buy the Wii for my son & daughter when the next shipment came in. I met him in the parking lot with cash. It felt like a drug deal.

I get that. I bought one the following July and held onto it until the next Christmas. The kids often saw it in our storage unit and thought it was the empty box that belonged to my friend with whom I shared the space. We do what we must.

Fingerling. It sounds pornographic and I thought it was a potato. But apparently it’s the hottest thing this year. Who would of thought a finger loving monkey would be all the rage, impossible to find and people would gouge the prices by 3x their retail price. 😑pic.twitter.com/Nl5XTBj4bJ

My son got a bike from his grandparents for Christmas & his female cousins got Cabbage Patch kids. He was devastated. His birthday is in January so his Poppy got him 2 dolls. Check out his smile!😁pic.twitter.com/VRotqY1qSh

My much older brother who lived in the New York metro at the time sent me my Cabbage Patch named Desiree. I still have her nearly 30 years later. The Original outfit is long gone but build a bear workshop clothes do fit cabbage patch dolls.

I had to dress as a rocket clad superhero and fight a postman for the toy version of said superhero during a Christmas parade while trying to save my marriage from Phil Hartman. The toy would be my son’s path to the dark side.
