Before the burial team stepped in, forgotten bodies were dumped in the desert. These men offer them some dignity. http://nyti.ms/2AVOVIy pic.twitter.com/C1loPJPely
All of the members of the burial team grew up poor. Many were orphans. They see themselves in the bodies they pick up, particularly the children. http://nyti.ms/2AVOVIy pic.twitter.com/nGkFvDTwJD
Christmas is their busiest time. Then, they can’t stand the idea of leaving rotting bodies behind, so they take as many as 120 at once. http://nyti.ms/2AVOVIy pic.twitter.com/cp92Y8dMYC

Raw stuff. People die alone and in misery every day. This has and will continue for some time - the fact we can do something about it now w/ technology, engineering, communication -- that's the next step. Your reporting is helping move that forward. Nice work. Thank you.

This story is heartbreaking..............
This is a thankless, tough job. I'm glad these gentlemen are willing to give the dead the dignity they deserve. No one should be left to rot in a desert because their family has no money. It's just not right.
WOW NOW THOSE ARE REAL MEN...
Heartbreaking. I’m speechless and in awe of them.
3000 people per year. 8 people per day, if no break in a year. Peace be with them.
is a very sad news here in #fiji
Meanwhile I’m trying to bridge the divide and learn some new engineering skill sets. Still doing things I don’t want to do hahaha
