Also, we don't capitalize "internet" any more, either. From the NYT stylebook:pic.twitter.com/P3nlS9X42e

I know. Your reporting on the climate is stellar, but this style choice regarding the Internet is an ongoing error.https://digiphile.wordpress.com/2016/09/06/on-the-internet/ …

Yet
@nytclimate 's own@jswatz was on record favoring the change fifteen years ago.http://www.nytimes.com/2002/12/29/weekinreview/the-nation-case-sensitive-crusader-who-owns-the-internet-you-and-i-do.html … -
I admire
@jswatz' reporting, wherever ownership -- and that's a well-argued piece. bWe shouldn't fall prey to regimented groupthink about usage. That way lies the Dark Side. The Force is a proper noun, as is the Internet.pic.twitter.com/BA6kQ4gMwa -
Oh, you're going to hate how the French do it. They're ahead of us and think of the internet like they think of television : « je l'ai lu sur internet » = "I read it on internet."
-
"Je l'ai lu sur Internet, donc ça doit être vrai"
-
French caps are different. Even days of the week and months don’t get caps.
-
Does that make them berets?

Your mind powers won't work on me. I've been around the galaxies enough to know when a starship captain's bluster is empty.pic.twitter.com/3TXLD3tLV4

Galaxy is a noun asshat, your argument is mute now. As is Captain, and starship for that matter. Look don't fight about it I'm at least twice your age, so, yes I do know better.
-
1. Proper Noun vs noun. 2. It is spelled “moot” (and, though arguably an autoantonym, is still used incorrectly here by either meaning). 3. The cake is a lie.
