Maybe you had no idea what the toy was, or why it was so special. But your child had to have it. Tell us the story.http://nyti.ms/2BTTBhd

There was no way I could afford the doll my daughter wanted. Local drugstore held contest, I stuffed the box with entries. We won!

Umm my kids don't get "the hot toy" they are lucky to get anything. Almost everything comes from Five Below.

I loved my cabbage patch kid! I used to grab it by the feet and hit my sibling with the hard head part when they would piss me off. Bam! Bam! Bam!

We had people offer us ALOT of money for one of our handmade monkeys. We had 1 person tell us no matter what the cost they wanted to pay and bump someone to get one of our monkeys! Weird!http://www.monkeysandmore.com

I had 7 brothers and sisters growing up, I was 10 and the cabbage patch doll was all I wanted. In the all the craziness my parents realized they misplaced my doll on Xmas eve- my dad called a friend who picked him up, they were home in time for me to get my doll Xmas morning

We've never been the kind of people who needed the latest toy/gadget/thing. I guess we got our kids to buy into all those 'true meaning of Christmas' specials.

My sister and I swore up and down we did NOT want one. That was until 3 days before Christmas when we just HAD to have one. Of course you could not buy one anywhere. Our mom went to Bingo on a Sunday and won 2 of them so they were under the tree Christmas day 😊

How about the story of how parents can’t get that “hot new toy” because they are underemployed and work overtime just to make enough to not qualify for food stamps.
