Instead of taping get the bear some food, throw him a seal, fish, something....

I don't think cameramen or journalist usually carry large quantities of seal meat, but I could be wrong.

I realize that, I can’t watch it, so sad!! Our government doesn’t do enough for our planet. Role backs, removing USA from summits global warming, more, concern for younger generations.

Of course climate change deniers will say it's the polar bear's fault for being lazy and not trying to look for food.

I’m not. But I am curious how and why he is starving. Do you know?

Polar bears are less able to hunt for seals when there is less ice. Usually that means they head to where humans live to scavenge in dumps. This one probably hasn't found enough in a while.

I know there are rules, but it seems like they should have fed the bear and got him/her to a zoo to receive proper care. It doesn't take away from the story to do that.

Not rules, illegal. If they fed the bear they would be breaking the law.

Also that makes them dependent on, and dangerous to, humans. Plus zoos are thousands of miles away.

Bears die all the time . This one just happened to be caught on video.

Yes, but polar bears are starving because of the lack of sea ice. They are having to swim far longer in search of ice to rest on and hunt seals. This video is not the first such documented case.

My point is connecting this particular bear to climate change is a stretch and such a weak attempt can actually be used as fodder by climate deniers. Climate change is real but so is the death of an old bear

Understood. Whether this particular bear is old and a matter of nature taking its course or starving because of melting ice is something only the scientists can attest to. Since climate deniers don't believe in science or scientists, it's really a moot point.
