Good. Because the state and local tax burden on tax payers and home owners is too much. The best question to ponder is why the people keep electing politicians that promise to raise taxes?

New York is a blue state and democrats dont want lower taxes. High taxes mean more $ to fund their social programs etc. It's a win win.

If they drive people out of the cities, won’t that ruin their whole electoral strategy of winning with a minority of voters from smaller, less populated states?

According to the stats in 2017, your state is taxing people at a rate of 4-9%. The bottom end is higher than the federal governments taxes on the bottom 50% of income earners. You guys have the highest state taxes in the nation.

I've never seen so much fretting about tax increases to the upper middle class and upper class.

Friggin DeBlasio wants to hand out gift cards to criminals. Money going to illegals. Yea. I don’t really feel sorry for them. I live in NJ and say screw SALT. Stop raising damn taxes to fund these idiotic liberal policies.

New Yorkers deserve to lose in the tax battle. They vote for high taxes every election, let them pay higher taxes.

Federal taxes are not the issue. State taxes have always been the problem. In 2013, the bottom 50%, making less than $37,000 AGI, paid less than 3% of all federal taxes. The state taxes are the issue, why not run a story about that? How's New York treating people?
