Start The Push- Talked with my childhood friend (23 yr Veteran) of the Chandler Police Dept in Arizona who says some vital tactical and communication training is being by-passed or omitted in an effort to speed completion of courses to get feet on the streets. SALETC, do your job

It's frustrating how little training the police get in general at all. All other walks of life have at least a year or two of education, but police academies are only 6 months on average?? Crazy.

Conversation shouldn’t only be about training bc it missed the macro point on personality types. To listen to Brailsford barking intentionally confusing orders hoping Shaver makes a mistake, giving reason to shoot him is stunning. This WAS the desired outcome.

How so? Proper vetting, training and draining those who're too far gone to be rehabilitated like Joe Arpaio clones...That's a big job. Lots.

My comment was about him “hoping Shaver makes a mistake” in hopes of shooting him. There’s zero indication of that whatsoever.

Gotcha. Hard tellin', not knowin'. Sure seemed the guy was doing his best to follow orders. I sure didn't see any need to shoot. SAD.

The judge withheld the video until after the verdict to prevent public outcry until found innocent.

Doubtful. It's been reported that one of the other officers involved took his retirement and left for Europe. We now pay for him to live in a more peaceful country.

There's a GoFundMe page for the officer who shot him. Created by by a man who agreed that this young man should've been shot. He was murdered. Unreal!

The Police need to learn to be calm instead of being so anxious to kill. It bothers me that he threatened to shoot that man several times when there was no apparent threat.

They need to seriously reframe policing to be about protecting the community rather than “upholding the law” in a way that views the community as a threat.
