Back in the 80's my ex gave an internship to a 20-yr-old student named Frank who'd been paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident due to black ice. Couldn't see the ice on a country road, the car rolled, he wasn't wearing a seat belt-thrown from his car and broke his back.

Ice on a road that looks wet is just ice. Ice that you can’t see on a road that looks dry is black ice.
