@BySheilaKaplan It's irresponsible to mention kratom in this context w/out mentioning DEA's failed attempt to make it schedule 1 substance. Lack of evidence for kratom deaths and enormous public backlash lead to unprecedented reversal by the DEA. #kratomsaveslives

Did you read the reports of the 36 deaths linked to Kratom? ALL of them had pre-existing conditions and other substances in their system. A good reporter would read the reports before putting false info in an article. #KratomEducation #KeepKratomLegal #WeAreKratom

NYT's should not just report FDA "findings". The FDA is corrupted by money, just like everything else in our culture. The FDA lies all the time. Don't listen to a word of what they say, so much is untrue it's terrifying.

The FDA cannot be trusted. Many new drugs make it to market and prove utterly unsafe. Many EXCELLENT plant substitutes given fake stories because no profit can be made. Kratom is not addictive AT ALL & does NOT CAUSE HALLUCINATIONS. ALL LIES. TOTALLY SAFE.

Kratom is addictive. It does get you high and it has serious physical and mental consequences during withdrawal. See /r/quittingkratom for stories. I'm not saying it should be illegal but pretending it's safer than it is serves no one.

Thats so stupid! They might as well say the pills cn increase the size of guy's "packages". The only way 2 successfully treat and stop opioids is 2 stop taking drugs altogether except maybe weed(herb/plant not drug),vitamins, heart meds, etc

Have you read the FDAs own so called "evidence"? No deaths can be linked directly to #kratom. They did not use their own database while compiling their claims. I'd expect better reporting from NY Times.

You either have to out grow it or be separated from it. You can't ease your way out of it. Opiates are a blessing to many of us who have chronic pain that can't be cured. But it can be hell if you can't handle it. People will try to make money suckering the suffering.
