It's great that the Netherlands currently see this as an opportunity but as the sea levels are reaching all time high's because of global warming there won't be much opportunity when they are under water. #Sealevels #Environmentlaw

2/3 of the Netherlands is below sea level. Ingenious engineering at work. Visit the Deltawerken. It is an amazing feat of engineering.

Are they not a low country? They’ve been working with water for quite some time

Very low. 2/3 of it lies below sealevel. Hi tech engineering helped them reclaim land from North sea and ijsselmeer. Engineering geniuses

How the heck we build a sea wall if salmons can't reach the lakes? What about flooding of salamander playgrounds? 100 ways to get paralyzed into inaction!

But they have no solutions for #Miami. The Dutch came and said sorry we can't help. So we all need to contribute to reducing #carbon any way we can.

Did you read the whole article? "There is no fix" Just continuous building and spending of money to prolong what everyone knows is going to happen. The reason the Dutch solution doesn't work is because Miami is built on porous land. Yes their engineering works but not truly a fix

You would think some genius in the Dutch government may look into soil comp to see if the grounds stable and not sinking.
