Local volunteer Waze map editors are adding closures as they are announced in real-time, even working directly with some gov't agencies. If you have information on closures, please message us, and we'll implement them within minutes! #WazeCommunity

Evacuation notices are written in a way fire fighters and police are used to seeing but I have noticed many locals on Twitter are asking for maps. Locals are unfamiliar with road names, feeling panicky and don’t know which routes they should take.

One of the definite best scenes in the history of the office. Do you think Steve Carrell was really driving or did they find a stunt driver lookalike (because you can see his eyes in the mirror)? Did he have to take stunt driving lessons? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

Apps that map traffic congestion may be biasing for the burning routes to get around busy highways that aren't melting.

I was in a Lyft for 3 1/2 hours while my driver insisted @waze would get us around everything, and instead directed us directly in to the #creekfire Never ever trusting @waze again and made sure I was never paired with that driver again, either.

Dear lord! I thought it was bad enough when my iPhone directed me to turn right into a canal. 😳 at least I had enough sense not to listen or react to the very deliberate and calm voice command. That was the first time I was certain that Siri had made an attempt on my life.

I’m convinced there have been. One involved a road that wasn’t paved that Siri insisted was a highway bypass another was when she suddenly said I have a shorter route that will save you 11 mins then drove me into wilderness with no cell service.pic.twitter.com/TVEThNt1Xl
