Why not a donation to a college where students will really need it? So more support for rich kids. Nice!!!

Not that simple. I had a 4.0 in high school and couldn't afford to go to college. The only scholarship I was offered was a year at a community college. Sorry, but... not everyone can just magically make their way to a "decent" college through sheer force of will. You gotta have $

You either didn’t explore all your options, didn’t take challenging courses, or your parents make too much money. Where do you live? Regardless, you’re barking up the wrong tree complaining about a couple giving millions for free tuition. This is why people are dismissive of...

Hey, Columbia... I know you’re a huge school and your academic record speaks for itself. But, maybe, juuuuuust maybe, if you didn’t charge your students nearly $60,000 to attend, they wouldn’t have as much student loan debt.

Wow, that is awesome. Talk about a contribution to society. Make it easier for top-notch students to become doctors. It doesn't get any better than that, especially when GOP tax bill eliminates student loan deductions.

I have 26years in Fire/EMS. With the last Thirteen as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic. If I could go back and do it again. I would be an ER Doc. The $200,000 in Student Loan debt was what was holding me back. I know now it would have been worth the money.

Yea, a $200k debt accumulating interest (not counting a home or vehicle) just goes away like that. 🙄 This would enable them to go into lower paying fields and do more community work.
