The GOP has been very clear about this if you would just LISTEN - tax cuts for business leads to more jobs and employers offering healthcare for employees and their kids and if you believe that fantasy you just might be a moron.

Hard to put into words how much I dislike Republicans right now. When BCBS cut off my son with Autism because he had reached his speech therapy cap CHIP was there so he could continue services. Going after CHIP is pure evil.

Kids' health is not up for debate, it's the health of children who come from poor and working class families that is up for debate.

It's not 1995 anymore. If there is a broad consensus for a government role in providing affordable care, there is a broad consensus in favor of CHIP. Eventually, reality is going to bite the GOP in the ass.

The ass kicking they took in Virginia should have been a hint but they are keeping up their games. First they blow up the deficit, then they go after CHIP, next will be social security or medicare. 2018 is going to be brutal.

Wtf does that have to do with the very serious issue of kids dying without proper access to medical care?

In some cases, yes it is. But to hear some of the left, we have kids bodies piling up because the government is coming to the rescue. There are other solutions beyond government programs for those truly in need. And there is much abuse in CHIP as well.

I’d be interested to know what those other solutions are, and how they compare with bulk purchasing power of the state.

The state is not the only entity that can buy in bulk. And I am fine with these programs for the truly needy. But if a family is making $75K, even $100k, why are they getting govt money???

Where do you see that figure? I can't find on chip website. Also, it appears to be different state to state. "46 States and (DC) cover kids up to or above 200% of the Federal Poverty Level and 24 of these states offer coverage to kids in families with income at 250% of FPL."
