There is no such thing as "unintentional arson". It's an oxymoron. The man made a mistake but he didn't commit a crime. I'm sure he feels horribly about it.

You can feel terrible about driving drunk and killing someone after the fact, doesn't change the fact you did it and it's your fault though.

Reality TV, does it's message of don't try this at home, never get through. First the idiots elect a poor performer as President , now some other ignorant being sets a town aflame trying to be a metalsmith.

Correction in this article seems wrong. Article says 28 ppl displaced in three burned buildings. Correction says 28 buildings burned.

What is this American obsession with so many buildings made out of wood and not brick and other safer building materials?

At least two of the destroyed buildings were brick. Brick construction is very common here. (I live across the river). Local news coverage:http://m.timesunion.com/news/article/Flames-consuming-large-building-in-Cohoes-12395747.php …

In fact, it's believed that the first brick structure in America was built in Albany. Brick making was brought over by the first Dutch settlers in the early 1600s.

Yes I know you have brick buildings, but the photos from the article show a lot of wood structures already burnt down.

The headline photo in my link is of a brick building, completely consumed by flames. Yes, brick fares better in fires, but it's not fireproof. That's all I'm saying.
