        If he did it to protect someone else, that should be looked into. If he did it to remove himself from reality to avoid life in prison, that's fine.

        Even there: life in prison is more punishment than death. He has to watch without contributing. That's as close to torture as we can humanely get. Him removing himself is therefore cheating... 😎
