Imagine how farther along we'd be on this type of technology if the fossil fuel dinosaurs weren't throwing up roadblocks every inch of the way.

Unfortunately we have that problem in Australia too. The Premier of the state of South Australia just went over the federal govenment’s head, basically.

Now if he'll live up to his word on Puerto Rico...
-
Wow! His company installed solar panels and got a children hospital up and running. A thanks for the help sounds better than Give me more
-
He promised PR he would help before this and yet... I am glad he is doing something, however, don't publicly make a claim and not follow through. Especially after a disaster. That's too Trumpian...
-
More info needed here. I understand that the massive damage to islands current grid needs to be salvage first. You can’t put Solar panels on a home with no roof. Stabilize current infrastructure first

Be nice to think it might favourably affect ridiculously high electricity prices here in SA, but of course it won’t. Shutting coal plants might appear good for environment but it’s not good for consumer’s wallets.
-
Australian Energy Market Operator tweeted : Not only did it help the grid right through a peak when there was little wind, and moderate wholesale eletricity prices, it also meant one expensive gas peaking plant did not have to be switched on.

Think of better solutions for places that NEED this, not countries where it can be implemented easily.

Please, it was a big undertaking. Give the man some credit.https://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2017/11/28/16709036/elon-musk-biggest-battery-100-days …

Aren't these things built to make the world a 'better place? Of course there's no denying its an amazing initiative, but supplying it to well developed countries won't help, supplying it to areas like India or Africa that actually NEED them will.
-
I am very happy it works, it can now be transported to India (a growing richer country) for further use and development.
-
Most definitely. A win-win for all.
