Ok. I could understand he was acquitted of murder. But he was acquitted of involuntary manslaughter too. Why?

I find this case http://thesouthern.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/jury-convicts-chester-man-of-involuntary-manslaughter-in-june-stabbing/article_accdf453-3bf6-5e90-9ce3-9da7630ec6a5.html … where the person was charged with first-degree murder but got involuntary manslaughter. It happened in another state, but I am just curious what made jury have different conclusions. Thank you for your expertise :)

Because he's black! If that SF case had been committed by a black man, he would be going to prison.

Uh in this case the convict was not a black man.. I understand the differences of cases, but coming from a country where there is no jury trial, I am just curious how jurors make conclusion.http://www.kesq.com/news/crime/man-convicted-of-involuntary-manslaughter-in-thermal-double-stabbing/626879224 …

Yeah I read the arguments in Kate's trial. It seems like the defense lawyer successfully argued the killing was an accident, which could acquit involuntary manslaughter charge. Thank you!

if he admits firing bullet that killed her how was he not at least guilty of involuntary manslaughter? Someone please explain.

this isn't just liberalism. Juries in San Francisco convict people of murder all the time I'm sure.

while I hope that isn't true there could be validity to that statement. Seems like clear involuntarily manslaughter.

Even S.F. papers said he pointed the gun. He had to pull the trigger which is against the law. If he shot at the ground still guilty
