This behavior normalized for long time. Even when sexual harassment suits gained popularity the idea of sexual harassment was a joke in offices around America. How many times have I heard, "Oh no...I just sexually harassed you! Are you going to report me? (chuckle, chuckle).

EXACTLY. This was almost every day in the military. And when I or others DID report, *we* were the ones that faced negative consequences. #MeToo

Of course it happened! Women didn't belong in the military so therefore men use the only avenue left to them to demoralize and demean women. Tired of having to fight for my right to exist outside the home, aren't we all?

Also damage caused by double bind, salacious & false gossip, character assassination -- you know, all those stereotypes men say women are guilty of, is behavior THEY engage & perpetuate. I was the only female officer in an Infantry BN, a CDR, & they HATED that!

It is called projection. Those that are guilty of a certain behavior can only believe that everyone else behaves that same way. More thanks to you for serving America while serving in that toxic situation.pic.twitter.com/4C6y7cQFKK

Yup, indeed. As a victim/survivor of domestic and sexual violence, I understand that gaslighting, projection, minimizing, denying & blaming are the greatest tools of the patriarchy. And thanks! I retired last year after 22 yrs.

I think the world would be a better place with more women leaders. Women have a talent to examine oneself for BS and call it out for what it is not only in themselves but others. Women have more courage too.

And will the New York Times have the stomach to use its resources for a deep investigation into just what the true story is about the dead intern in Joe Scarborough's office? Nothing to see here, right? #JoeScarborough
