Prison is too often crime school. How do correctional authorities prepare prisoners for release, if they even bother to?

Prison profiteering today is all about warehousing offenders. Rehabilitative efforts are minimal. Check out Prison Legal News for more insights.

The inconsistency with how the death penalty is applied on murderers adds to the unfairness of our criminal justice system. How is it a deterrent when there is a greater chance a murderer won't be executed, unless if he or she is a person of color, then the odds go up?

Undoubtedly prolonged imprisonment negatively impacts a person’s psyche. Not trying to minimize this man’s actions, but excessive punishment is certainly counterproductive.

The "Land of the Free" has more prisoners than any other country... and if they find out you're innocent, they'll try harder to keep you locked up... there's something very wrong with our system

That’s because your system is just reinvented slavery. More prisoners than the rest of the world; prisons allowed to profit from their prisoners and lobby for harsher sentences.
