Mary, I don't know what you are reading, but when they say "Given that the President doesn't see a deal between Democrats and the White House", it seems pretty clear that they are referring to his tweet in which he says he doesn't "see a deal". How can u interpret it differently?

Decision is based on last time they met with trump and he said one thing, did another. P & S are stating they are done wasting time. Decision has nothing to do w/ a tweet, they are adults. Referencing tweet is a back hand at the orange child not REASON for sidestepping trump.

I get it. It's their job to do shitty work on behalf of the American public (working with Trump has to be the worst). But there are times in which Trump has to feel the sting of his childish behavior, even if that mean, from time to time, the opposition engages in that behavior

I do not think Democrats see any of this as "shitty work". I believe the Democrats recognize the honor in their service to The American People. I think they are frustrated at the lack of service from the @GOP.

So because Trump doesn’t see a deal, Pelosi and Schumer won’t bother to show up and even try. Dems are the childish ones here.
