Interesting article. It reminded me of a term I had forgotten: functional illiteracy. That is very common here on Twitter.

What a stupid Tweet! Poor Reading causes Ignorance, not the other way around. Another moment straight out of #GeorgeOrwell's 1984! #FakeNews trying hard to avoid being held responsible. Try this - REPORT FACT-BASED NEWS w/o BIAS! #WakeUp!

You're actually an illustration of what the article (which maybe you didn't read) is saying. It's an OPINION piece. Do you know what that means?

Yes, Opinion is all that @nytimes publishes. Even as an Opinion Piece, this fails, because the author cannot properly assess facts and simply assumes his perspective is accurate. It's called Confirmation Bias.

It's conjecture. You called the NY Times fake news. You called an opinion piece "reporting." You called it Orwellian. I'd say you've been influenced by something propaganda.

NYT is mostly Opinion & #FakeNews, which is an easily probable Fact. Why would NYT Tweet this "Opinion", other than to Promote it as if it were News. And it is Orwellian, because it pushes a deceptive perspective as factual.

It's labeled "Opinion" in the tweet. They tweet stories from all their sections: headline news, the arts, science, opinion, etc. They are not pushing it as "factual." They labeled it "opinion."
