This is the record of a father’s desperate attempt to save his son, as told by the texts and emails he sent http://nyti.ms/2hKOAiR pic.twitter.com/0vbPmaJRuA

Brutally raw, honest and heart breaking. The worst part is “the NHL is doing nothing...”. Bettman is proud that the league is generating between $3-4 billion. Surely it can spare some to help this young man (and others) to not end up sadly like Boogard, Belak and Montador

As NFL is forced to confront brain injury, NHL will eventually follow, but not in time for this guy. Sickening.

This is horrific. I know zero about ice hockey, but the NHL need to take some responsibility for this former player. Work related injuries should be a priority for any organisation. The poor father is at his wits end. Can feel the fear & pain of the father.

We reap what we sow. If we sow to violence, then a harvest of violence is what we'll reap. I do not understand why sports like boxing and football 🏈 are glorified on the altar of sports. You harvest what you plant.

What I think it is, he's locked something up on the left side of his brain, if right handed, and he may have an automatic impulse when he has forgets of who he is, to feel a pickup of positive.
