As Alabama politics provokes outcry from far beyond the state line, college football remains a point of pridehttp://nyti.ms/2zCcDvK

Alabama is a national disgrace. But we have let it become so. Poor education and health outcomes result in this cesspool. We must rescuce!

At restaurant yesterday, saw a guy w/ Alabama sweatshirt. Debated saying to him, "How 'bout that pedophile, eh?", decided that I had pity, thought about 'roll tide', then stayed silent 'cuz TBI injuries are sad, too.

Football, in the process, creates masses of men with traumatic brain injuries, usually undiagnosed, forever hurting their life chances as the price of a few moments of "glory" as teens. Sad.

If moore wins, there should be an immediate nationwide call for a boycott of any product made in Alabama. Any convention or vacationer should avoid that state. The best football players should go somewhere else. Break them.

Another instance, where whites simply refuse to open a history book and will lie because they believe that most blacks are illiterate: Bear Byrant, the most famous football person in Alabama, and a segregationist, is lionized- first black player only started in 1971-Wil Jackson.

Interesting article; I just have one friend in Alabama & she has a Master's Degree from Univ. of Alabama, so probably not "typical". She's one of the few FB friends I have not had to unfriend in the past year 😳
