These shows are not stand up, one person w/ a mic & their wit. Even if the main character or creator of the media IS bad, hundreds of people were involved in the making & shouldn't be lumped in for the boycott.

Investigate all accusations. Prosecute those that warrent. Their work is in the past, a moment caught in time. Pretending it was never made doesn't unmake it, or change the quality of the media, tho it MIGHT affect individual's enjoyment. So INDIVIDUALS should self regulate.

What about all the people behind the scenes who lose their jobs when a show gets cancelled?

It matters because innocent folk lose their jobs down to the actions of one man.

I don't disagree and although I'm a fan of his work - I really hope that's the end of his career. My sympathies are the innocent employees who will lose their jobs.

In the end, people still play Wagner, read Doestoyetsky, and admire Caravaggio’s art, although those artists were assholes. But it’s not clear to me that any of these guys were at that level. They’ll all be forgotten in a few years.

People have been under the delusion that money and fame make the man! Now we can see clearly that valuing good character is what makes the man!

American society today and even many young artists themselves have a great deal of difficulty separating the art from the artist. You are not the art and the art is not you, you are separate entities. And they should be treated accordingly.

Weinstein et al., despite their shittiness as humans & deplorable behavior, had the ability to bring skittish outside-financing to projects, getting them made. "New Hollywood" has no such pull where financing is concerned - pie will be smaller & there will be far less work.

"Gravy train." I guess you leave before the credits run. I don't. I am awed by those scrolling names, every one a separate struggle for recognition and fair pay. "So what"? Fuck hardship and unemployment for THOUSANDS of families?

Commit it to the archives, with an asterisk. If we discredit art through personal virtue, then a great number of our prized works must also be destroyed. Also, it punishes and discredits every innocent person involved in the creation of said works.
