Oxford Circus Station—a Tube station I remember well. Apparently, people shopping in Selfridges also panicked after rumors of gunshots fired. Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing. Still, I hate to see my beloved London in this state. 😟

There is a valid and justified request from @metpoliceuk not to use pics of their armed response personnel or their response activities.

        You're a bit late reporting. Everything's already back to normal. 😂https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live/2017/nov/24/oxford-circus-police-london-tube-gunshots-live …

To be honest, I'm just happy nobody was really hurt. That's the main thing. 😁👍

I commented on the Guardian's coverage that this reminds me of a Christmas tradition in malls around the US. A lot of young folks come into the mall, without parents. They converge in the food court. A pretend scuffle breaks out. Several sharp sounds ring out. Panic. Police.

No reports of any injuries arising from speedy evacuation of a crowded underground station. I think your "mass panic" comment is inaccurate. Well done the TfL staff.
