Don’t force young girls to hug their relatives, the Girl Scouts recommended. Not everyone appreciated the advice.http://nyti.ms/2jQfXMW

Teaching children that they must obey the commands of adults, even those that are strangers, makes them a prospective pedophile’s dream.

Forcing hugs, or any other behaviour involving invasion of personal security, is part of a larger societal problem. Teaching kids self respect is more important than teaching them to be uncomfortable to please others.

The first person to put their hands, and tongue, where they didn’t belong, was my grandfather. Kids know who not to hug. It most certainly is NOT overplayed.
