They should be suing the NRA for making lax gun laws a reality.

If this goes through, I'm pretty sure all hotel check in policies will include a thorough search of luggage and metal detectors. It'll be the airport all over again.

The hotel would not have been my first choice of defendants. So many other unclean hands

Why. Why sue the hotel? That just seems ludicrous to me. It’s not like the check in personnel have phDs in psychology. Mandalay Bay Hotel is not responsible. The shooter is, and he’s in Hell.

That’s how you will change the gun laws by suing the facilitators

Ain't that America! If we trip and fall, we'll sue the estate of Sir Isaac Newton.

Why not sue the shops where the guns are bought in the first place? No guns, no killing.

Tragic, but if the gun and ammo manufactures can't be sued, then the hotel should be immune too.

Guns don’t kill people, hotels that happen to allow crazed gunmen in kill people!! Sheesh, your country....

Yeah...a cool $3.5 million will definitely replace my loved one who got murdered in cold blood.
-
The money will never replace the love you shared; a smile, a hug, memories..they are priceless gifts even billions will never replace them. I am sorry for your loss, my deepest sympathy...
-
I was being sarcastic. Hopefully you are too.

As
@fred_burton mentioned just after this tragedy, these hotels will move rapidly to ensure guns aren't bought into their premises by civilians -
They already do, numerous signs are posted that weapons are not allowed on Hotel grounds as its private property. Didn’t stop anything.

That's incredibly absurd. The hotel wasn't at fault. Hell, one of its *unarmed* security guards even tried to intervene, which is ridiculously brave.
