ISPs should be ashamed of themselves sending lobbyists to Capitol Hill to charge the American people more money for content

The companies involved did not pay for the internet. They did not build it. They had to glass up. We will code around them.

Basically the internet providers didn’t create the internet they don’t own internet meaning anybody can make their own internet towers and code to get their own internet for cheap

The problem will be connecting.

How it will affect me is that ISPs will add layers of fees on top of tiers of service to squeeze every last penny to boost their bottom line. Simple enough explanation?
-
Since NN is relatively new, did you have those layers of fees before and did the go away? Who is your provider?
-
Verizon FIOS already has a tiered system I expect to get more expensive. They also don't give me the bandwidth I'm paying for. If they also block my VPN, I'm out.
-
Wow! Not seeing that with Spectrum (fTWC), yet! This will be interesting. Maybe Congress will get together and put together a law to serve the people... oh, never mind. Nevertheless, let’s not lose sight entirely. Happy T Day!

Why would Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc be ok with this. Limiting internet access through price will limit access to thier sites. Right?
-
They aren't. They all supported
#NetNeutrality
because it kept the competition down. Ideally, if #NetNeutraility gets repealed, they will keep the ISP in check in order to keep their current users available. They lose if Comcast throttles them. -
So if they are against repeal of NN, why aren't we hearing from the Zuckerbergs of the world. I haven't heard zippity do da from them.
-
Maybe they are busy, cutting deals with the ISP companies in case this does get repealed. Maybe they are afraid to draw more attention to themselves after the Russia Ad campaign and their admittance to controlling/censoring information, even under the NN.

-
Seems like repeal of NN will set up an ISP biz model similiar to cable. Access to more sites will be more $. But cable biz is plummeting from cord cutters. Not a good model to follow.
