        New York is full of empty stores due to high taxes, high rent, and online shopping. New York's "cure" is to tax store front and property owners more taxes if they leave the buildings empty. LOL.

        I like the idea of vacancy tax on empty commercial properties. @CityofVancouver should consider that along with the empty home tax!

        Worker's wages have barely gone up for years and they can't afford to go shopping at these stores. Consumers drive the economy and when they don't see any wage increase they can't go shopping.
