Can't read the article, but IMO, elderly and old persons should continue with skin cancer screenings until it becomes impractical for them to have screenings done. What would be the downside?

I would imagine that skin cancer found early might give the elderly a few more years? I know someone who got melanoma on her leg at age 62, never treated it and was dead in 5 years. 67 isn't old, right?

Melanoma is deadly. It's really unfortunate your acquaintance didn't get treatment. 67 isn't "old" anymore. It's "older adult." Elderly is 75-85. Oldest old is 85-90+. These are all approximate, unofficial ranges. I can research more exact demographics.

Ridiculous scamming by medical corporate greed. Totally unnecessary trauma for vulnerable elderly.

Of course. And if they are competent to make medical decisions given the options and risks and allowed to make their own choice regarding treatment.

Fascinating. I don't think her derm is over treating. I got no pushback about mom's decision not to do Mohs surgery on something. But definitely worth reading closely.
