Strange that the vast majority of people commenting on this article are men. Even stranger that they are dismissing this as an issue or worse yet a symptom of a much bigger issue.

The era that men can shame periodicals like @nytimes for their awful reporting is just beginning. Stellar story. Keep up the good work guys!

Someone criticised mine once and I told him he could kiss it goodbye because that was the last time he was going to see it.

I'm somewhat confused. I didn't realize this was a thing that happened. However, I agree, but I'd like to add that women should also stop using men's genitals as an insult. 'Tiny penis', anyone?

"This experience proves that shaming women about physiologically normal and functioning vaginas is epidemic." I agree, I can't go anywhere without hearing some vulgarian commenting on someones VAGINA, and how UNHEALTHY it looks or acts.

America is the http://only.place  I know in the world where I have sat in a restaurant and ended up knowing more about the vagina of the woman at the next table than her boyfriend.

Maybe clean vaginas being a bad thing is an NYC thing.

The point is actually the fact that is a JOKE...and NOT ONE PERSON has ever said ANYTHING about this to ANYONE I KNOW. Example of a real problem: being a Cancer Patient. Another example: Living in a War Zone There is no "Era of Vagina Shaming", it's hyperbole at best.

Well, I guess you are the authority on abusive men & their behavior, which again, is the point of this article.

Another obtuse individual on Twitter that can't make a cogent point, who would have thunk it? The point of the article is that being an endless victim of every last thing is truly possible in 2017, even if it's by proxy!

Misandrists. 1) Men don’t do this, and 2) Why are you pushing this narrative? Find something worthwhile to write about. There’s a whole wide world out there.

Huh. I presume this is to gin up hatered towards men. That’s what it feels like. I’ll let you in on a little secret: most men like vaginas. Shocking, I know. Next: Talk about all the very kind terms used to describe penises. Let’s do that, shall we?
