        The slowness comes from new updates that take advantage of the new hardware. If you don’t update your apps (or the OS) your old phone will run just as fast as the day you bought it.

        It’s pretty simple really. Phone companies release new phones every year, the new phones are updated with the latest technology which the previous years models weren’t built to support, so when the phone companies try to update the old phones with the new technology they lag
