10 years from now when the economy is in the dumps and we fall behind in technology and innovation, remember it was the GOP and their donors.

Its cause Congress was playing politics with the debt ceiling. But I don't care to defend the previous administration, but rather focus on the how to current admin is working to ruin the country. His incompetence is unprecedented.

Thanks, guys. This will cause drop outs, loan defaults, and upside down finances for new PhDs—academic PhDs live the pauper’s life as it is; now things will be literally worse. Luckily, the Senate, far more forward thinking than the House, promises to stand by us!

Can't default on student loans, even in bankruptcy. Basically they'll be on the debt gravy train forever...

I’ve been listening to grad students talking about personal loans just to cover their new tax bill.

You lose. We’ll leave, study where it’s more student/future friendly, and the States will be left to, quite literally, #maga itself into the ground.

It's sickening. They penalize the brightest who could do wonderful things for this country and allow the super wealthy to make out like bandits. PhD students barely make enough to live on & now they want to tax their tuition. It's an atrocity.

Education is the enemy of @GOP As we saw in 16 educated folks were not voting for Trump or other Repubs. Under educated are easier to lie to & get them to buy bullshit that ultimately hurts them.

The passivity Congress and most Americans are displaying as the .005 percent (> 1%) rapes lower wage earners is disgusting. Don’t tax millionaires for their private jet maintenance costs, but tax grad students on their tuition waivers? WTF?

Trump at the Deplorables are striving to make America dumb again. Who needs graduate degrees to compete against China and the rest of the world? We can all just mine coal.

Did you get any scholarships? If so, did you have to pay income tax on them? If not, you are talking apples and oranges. Wake up to how our country is being dismantled by DJT and his cronies.
