The question of social class must be considered. The Times is the house organ of the eastern elite establishment, views itself as part of that establishment, and has always had it in for people it sees as “climbers.” The Clintons have always been “new money” & therefore suspect.

Despite his come-and-go Texas twang, George W. Bush was very much a part of the elite establishment and charmed the press (at least for a long time). Reporters and commentators (Dowd was particularly vicious) savaged Gore, whose father had gone to YMCA Night Law School.

The insane Gore 2000 coverage was personal too, a perfect parallel to the way they covered HRC. Seething, smoldering with mocking disdain. They admitted after 2000 they just didn't like Al Gore. NYT screwed us over in 2000 as a result of a personal issue w/Gore. & again in 2016.

Exactly - while the Left is wagging our fingers at each other to be good little scouts, the GOP lies through their teeth and destroys our democracy. We don't need to jump at every accusation the GOP makes, and we should always question their motives.

Does anyone remember that he was impeached? Remember Trump parading Clinton's accusers during the election? Does anyone remember that Paula Jones settled for $850,000? Seems like there were repercussions that have negatively impacted him and his family. What about Donald?
